MEGA BEAM CHARGING

DEAD MAN'S GRIP REQUIRED THROUGH 70%
HOLD TO ABORT

RELEASE NOTES

v2.4.0 β€” β€œDEAD MAN'S GRIP”

  • Arming now requires a sustained hold through 70% of the charge. Release early and nothing happens, which is the point.
  • Past 70%, the beam proceeds without you. The amber line on the gauge marks where your options narrow.

v2.3.1 β€” β€œQUIET”

  • Aborting the beam now also aborts the sound of the beam. Physics conceded the point.

v2.3.0 β€” β€œMERCY”

  • An ABORT control has been added to the arming sequence. Holding it discharges the beam, restores baby mode, and produces a feeling formally classified as relief.
  • Restraint is now a supported feature.

v2.2.4 β€” β€œLOWER CASE”

  • Field units no longer announce β€œcapital.” The Operator is a baby; all letters are equally enormous to him.

v2.2.3 β€” β€œBILLOW”

  • The mushroom cloud's column now billows properly. Witnesses described the previous hard edge as β€œthe least of our concerns,” but we fixed it anyway.

v2.2.2 β€” β€œNEGATIVE SPACE”

  • Arming warnings re-timed so each may be heard in full. Two were removed to make room.
  • The silence between warnings is intentional. Do not fill it.

v2.2.1 β€” β€œIT SPEAKS”

  • Two arming warnings replaced after focus-group feedback described them as β€œtoo reassuring.”
  • The replacement text was not written by anyone currently employed here.

v2.2.0 β€” β€œCONSEQUENCE ENGINE”

  • MEGA BEAM charge cycle extended to 15 seconds. Dread should be savored, not rushed.
  • Warning narration reliability improved on portable field units. The voice now reaches everyone.
  • Detonation upgraded: visible beam strike, impact fireball, ballistic debris, intra-cloud lightning, secondary shockwave. Physics remains respected; property values do not.
  • Reality is now restarted after each discharge. Universe counter persists between sessions and increments without ceremony.
  • Blessed are the button mashers.

v2.1.1 β€” β€œDESK STATION PARITY”

  • MEGA BEAM manual arming interlock extended to desk stations without touch input (hold the designated key sequence).
  • Treaty 7 compliance unaffected; the feature continues to not exist.

v2.1.0 β€” β€œDETERRENT CAPABILITY”

  • MEGA BEAM weapons system installed. Six-point manual arming interlock. Per Treaty 7, this feature does not exist.
  • Release documentation portal (this document). Legal insisted.
  • Version identifier now displayed on all field units.

v2.0.0 β€” β€œAPPLIED PERCUSSION”

  • Charge-and-release munitions: hold any input to charge, release to detonate. Yield scales with patience, a first for this operator class.
  • Interactive shatter physics: tap a letter, it becomes five letters. Engineering is proud. Janitorial is not.
  • Security Demonstration Mode rarity re-tuned 2.4Γ— upward following an Operator overexposure incident.
  • Corrected: mainframe access no longer persists after supervised exits. Several departments relieved.

v1.2.0 β€” β€œDIVISIONAL REALIGNMENT”

  • BabySystems Division is now the Infant Typography Division. Same people, better letterhead.
  • Classified capability hints removed from public signage per Security memo 44-C.

v1.1.0 β€” β€œOBJECT PERMANENCE”

  • Effects now appear where the Operator touches, on all display densities. The Physics team has been disciplined.
  • Twelve anomalies resolved, including audio loss after telephone interruptions and phantom interval accumulation in the mainframe simulator.

v1.0.0 β€” β€œFIRST WORDS”

  • Initial release. Keys make colors. Colors make joy.
  • Security Demonstration Mode (see: nothing; this is a baby toy).
